Cattail damming structure Geuensee

In 2002 seecon realised Switzerland’s first cattail damming structure in the municipality of Geuensee. The structure serves as a simple and cost-efficient buffer that holds back and cleans accrued stormwater. The municipality of Geuensee can thus do without an expensive stormwater reservoir. At the same time, owing to the structure, the renewable resource cattail is produced for use in the building industry (mudbrick building) and as a carbon neutral energy source (pellets). The annual cattail yields thus constitute a viable new business option for the agricultural sector.
