Martin Wafler Project Manager

Martin Wafler obtained his MSc degree in Land and Water Management and Engineering from the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, in 2004. He has more than 7 years of experience in mainstreaming ecologically sound and socially acceptable water and wastewater concepts that are internationally labelled as ecological sanitation (short „ecosan”) or sustainable sanitation. This professional experience includes the conceptualization and implementation of sustainable wastewater management and reuse concepts in India, the development of training materials and preparation, facilitation, delivery and follow-up of participatory training courses and workshops on ecosan and Sustainable Sanitation and Water Management (SSWM) in Africa, South Asia and South East Asia. As consultant to international organisations Martin Wafler conducts studies and coordinates capacity development activities, the design, implementation and follow-up - including operation and maintenance - of decentralised sanitation projects in rural and peri-urban settings and schools.
