Dorothee Spuhler Project Manager

Dorothee Spuhler is a graduate of environmental engineering (Dipl. Ing. Env. EPFL) with a focus on water systems. She has a broad knowledge in environmental sciences and sustainability. Her core competencies are recycling-oriented sanitation systems, decentralised water treatment, systems for waste water reuse, and integrated water resources management. She has applied these concepts in various projects in Switzerland, Africa and Asia as a researcher, project manager and capacity development. She has co-initiated the SSWM Toolbox, an online educational application on sustainable sanitation and water management, and has coordinated this initiative as well from 2010 to Jan 2014. Among others she is also Lead oft he working group on Capacity Development oft the Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA) and moderates the forum oft he alliance. In her leisure she is either indoors, engaged with her PhD on resource-efficient sanitation systems – or she is somewhere outdoors, depending on the season preferably in the mountains or at/in any (clean) waters.
