Janek Hermann-Friede Senior Partner

Janek Hermann-Friede is a graduate of environmental engineering (Bc./MSc.) at the TU Berlin. Following initial work experiences in Peru and Germany he completed a post-graduate course in international development cooperation at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. At seecon Janek Hermann-Friede develops innovative solutions for effective water and resource governance. As a consultant he is supporting reform and change processes in East Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Jointly with public institutions, NGOs and private companies he creates solutions for management related challenges. In supporting such processes he values clear incentives and the right balance between participation, change of perspectives and technical expertise. As assessor and entrepreneur he is keenly interested in the question how social and ecological challenges can be solved through economically sustainable initiatives. This includes handling failures adequately to progress towards successful ideas. Despite or precisely because of the international nature of this work, his hometown Berlin including the diverse cultural offer is very important to him.
