Interim management of a foundation

Health reasons led to the executive director of a charitable foundation ceasing work from one day to the next and unable to continue her job, which had carried with it a considerable degree of responsibility. As an interim measure the foundation board then engaged Astrid Frischknecht from seecon to take over the operational management of the organisation with its approximately 50 staff members. Administration of the day-to-day activities was resumed promptly and flexibly. Quality enhancing measures that had already been planned were also initiated, and the job advertisement and selection process for a new executive director was addressed in close collaboration with the foundation’s president and board. Following the appointment of a new director and her successful adjustment to the job, the management of all activities could be fully handed back after eight months.
