Our understanding of why the transport of goods is steadily on the increase, and how this growth could be halted, is still insufficient. That is why seecon supports the organisation Alpeninitiative with the founding of the “Freight Transport Institute Uri – Research Institute for a Transport-Efficient Economy”. The institute’s task is to establish the scientific foundations for reducing freight traffic and transport, to make the research results publicly available and assist real-world implementation through specialist education and training. Throughout the project, seecon responsible for the process management and consults the Alpeninitiative in the founding process of the institute, which will be situated in Altdorf in Canton Uri.
